Sudan Founding Alliance Establishes Presidential Council and Appoints Mohammed Hassan Osman Al-Ta’ayshi as Transitional Prime Minister

Khartoum, Sudan – 26 July 2025 – In a pivotal step toward stabilizing Sudan and laying the foundation for a peaceful, democratic future, the Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) has announced the formation of a 15-member Presidential Council and the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Hassan Osman Al-Ta’ayshi as Prime Minister of the Transitional Peace Government.
The announcement follows the second and third sessions of the TASIS Leadership Council held on 24 July 2025, where leaders engaged in productive and objective deliberations on key governance structures. Two landmark resolutions were adopted:
1. Formation of the Presidential Council
In accordance with Article 67(2) of the 2025 Transitional Constitution of the Republic of Sudan.
The 15-member Presidential Council includes regional governors who, by virtue of their positions, serve as deputies to the President of the Council for their respective areas. The full list of members is as follows:

• Commander Abdalaziz Adam Alhilu – Vice-Chairman
• Eltahir Abubaker Hajar – Member
• Mohamed Yousif Ahmed – Member
• Hamid Hamdeen Al-Nuwairi – Member
• Abdalla Ibrahim Abbas – Member
• Kholdi Fathi Salim – Member
• Elhadi Idriss Yahya – Governor of the Darfur Region – Member
• Jagood Mukwar Marada – Governor of the South Kordofan/Nuba Mountains Region – Member
• Joseph Tuka Ali – Governor of the newly established Fung Region – Member
• Saleh Issa Abdullah – Governor of the Central Region – Member
• Mabrouk Mubarak Saleem – Governor of the Eastern Region – Member
• Abuelgasim Elrasheed Ahmed – Governor of the Northern Region – Member
• Faris Elnur Ibrahim – Governor of Khartoum – Member
• Hamad Mohamed Hamid – Governor of the Kordofan Region – Member

2. Appointment of the Prime Minister
As stipulated in Article 71(1)(a) of the 2025 Transitional Constitution.
• Mr. Mohammed Hassan Osman Al-Ta’ayshi has been selected as Prime Minister of the Transitional Peace Government. He will lead efforts to build a democratic, civilian-led administration that reflects Sudan’s diverse regions and peoples.

TASIS will continue its sessions in the coming days to address remaining agenda items necessary for the full implementation of the Transitional Peace Government.
