Free Iran 2025 Conference: Maryam Rajavi Declares Regime Change as the Only Solution to Iran’s Crises

Paris, France – May 2025
In a powerful address at the Second Free Iran 2025 Conference titled "Regime Change for a Democratic Republic," Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), emphasized that the only viable solution to Iran’s deepening crises—including its nuclear weapons program—is regime change led by the Iranian people and their organized resistance.
Held at the headquarters of the Iranian Resistance, the conference gathered lawmakers, political dignitaries, and Iranian communities from across the world. Rajavi declared that the clerical regime is at a breaking point due to internal turmoil, economic collapse, and mounting public unrest.
“The regime has squandered over $2 trillion on nuclear and military projects while millions of Iranians live in poverty, deprived of basic services like water, electricity, and education,” Rajavi said. “This crisis is not just economic—it is existential. The Iranian people have rejected the regime in its entirety.”
She cited massive protests, nationwide strikes, and growing resistance movements—particularly among youth and workers—as evidence that the regime’s grip on power is slipping. One such example was a recent strike by truck drivers in over 150 cities demanding basic rights and fair wages.
Rajavi praised the ongoing “No to Executions Tuesdays” campaign inside Iran’s prisons, where political prisoners defy repression week after week. “This is the voice of a nation that refuses to be silenced,” she said.
She also warned the international community about the regime’s deceptive nuclear ambitions. The NCRI, she noted, has exposed secret nuclear facilities—most recently in Semnan—thanks to its vast network inside Iran. She called on Western governments to:
Designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization,
Recognize the Iranian people’s right to resist and overthrow the regime,
Support the Resistance Units leading the fight on the ground.
Rajavi concluded by reiterating that a democratic republic, based on separation of religion and state, gender equality, and peaceful coexistence, is not only possible but inevitable.
“The Iranian people are ready. The Resistance is ready. The future belongs to a free and democratic Iran.”
The conference ended with resounding support from international lawmakers who have backed parliamentary initiatives in support of the NCRI and its Ten-Point Plan for a democratic Iran.
