Emirates Health Services launches AI virtual nurse

Emirates Health Services has launched a virtual nurse powered by artificial intelligence, Emirates News Agency, also known as WAM, reported Tuesday.

Using metaverse technology, its tasks will include generative AI system triage and appointment scheduling assistance.

It uses advanced clinical algorithms to simulate the interactions of human nurses, WAM added.

The technology will function as a database catalog, storing over 10,000 diagnoses and symptoms. It facilitates understanding and responding to patient inquiries, provides medical advice, and aids in case assessment and triage.

The virtual nurse can be accessed via a variety of platforms, including the EHS app, website, and interactive kiosks in healthcare facilities.

The project will compare and exchange disease burden variations for major disease categories such as diabetes, stroke, cancer, obesity, and cardiovascular diseases, utilizing various clinical risk group components.

The virtual nurse was unveiled as part of EHS’ participation in the 49th Arab Health Medical Expo 2024 in Dubai, where the organization is showcasing 27 healthcare projects from Jan. 29 to Feb. 1.
